Design Team Friday 09-30-2011

It's Friday and that means it's design team challenge day!  This week we were challenged to "dress up" our page for Halloween.
Last week, I got out Keegan's costume.  We purchased it last year after Halloween on clearance.  If it told you we paid $2.50 for this costume brand new, would you believe me?  Well we did, love it when Old Navy really marks stuff way down.
I was afraid it would fit him but never though about the reaction I would get when I put it on him!  It fits him fine but hate is probably a very mild word for how he felt about being eaten by a dragon costume.  In my defense, I had the camera ready so he only had this on for a couple of minutes.  I didn't torture him for very long ;).
The pattern I used for this page is "Dragon Costume" by Little Scraps of Heaven Designs.

Quick Card

Today I'm sharing a card I made using the http://www.littlescrapsofheavendesigns.com/item_128/Frankenstein-Card.htm pattern at Little Scraps of Heaven Designs.  This was such an easy card to put together!

Dry Erase Board

For today's project at Little Scraps of Heaven, I made a dry erase board.  This one is for the kitchen and has a menu planner, grocery list and menu idea area.
For this project, I used the "Cooking Up Some Fun Collection"

Keegan's Birthday

I can hardly believe it's been a year & what a year it has been.  So many ups & downs all year long so it was so much fun to celebrate Keegan's 1st birthday!
I thought I would share a few pictures :)

He wanted nothing to do with opening his presents.  His cousin, was trying so hard to get him to open one but he wasn't having anything to do with them!
Loved this picture!  The front of his outfit says "Future Quarterback"
Finally, his cousins started opening all of his gifts.  I'm so glad they were there or we might have had a long day!
Now that they are opened, he's having fun!

Cake time & he was not happy about that!  He really didn't want anything to do with it and didn't even eat a bite!
What we didn't know is that the poor little guy was on the verge of becoming a sick little boy.  By the end of  his party we noticed that he had a slight fever and by the next day he was sick.  Poor little guy had to go to the hospital and get some iv fluids.  Today, he's feeling a bit better but still has a pretty croupy cough and not quite himself, yet.  I sure wish we could redo his party for him when he feels better.  This Grandma thinks we will at least have cake!

I decided to make him a birthday banner.  Once I figured out how much paper it would use, I decided not to add his age to it, so that we can use it every year.
I used the Banner Collection and the Birthday Monkey Collection for this banner.  I cut the letter out of the top layer of the banner, so that they back layer would show through.  That saved me some paper.(yes, I have enough paper for 10 years of projects but I had to be thrifty, lol)

Design Team Friday 9-2-2011

This week we were given a great challenge, an "anything goes" challenge.  We could pick our subject and have fun creating!
So, I decided to make a layout.  I have a hard time making pages and I really have a hard time using my baby pictures!
I decided to use this weeks sketch challenge, it has two square pictures on it so that did it, I decided to use a couple of my baby pictures.
I used two pictures of my cousin & I, we were 3 weeks apart in age.  We stayed with our Grandma quite often, she always said taking care of us was just like taking care of twins and she should know because she had a set of twins.  What one of us didn't think of, the other one did.
I used the postage stamp frame from the Animal Sampler Collection and the giraffe pattern from the Jungle and Zool Pals Collection.
Be sure to check out the Little Scraps of Heaven fanpage and join us for the challenges.
